Teaching yourself self-defense isn't really a good idea
I started this blog today because I've had a lot of self-defense-related thoughts and ideas bouncing around, and have been sitting with the trauma of recently losing a friend and his wife to one the wildest act of violence I've ever heard of. As a result, I've been talking a lot with family and friends about it, and thinking about how I can channel passions for self-defense, firearms, and helping people into something proactive. Here's the gap that I think this blog will fill (and things I think it shouldn't be). 1) It will be a place for me to consolidate and share some of the self-defense and general preparedness info and synthesis that I'm gathering. I'll be saving this blog for topics that don't fit under my prepper blog.
